The raw scores enable you to see how pupils are performing in these tests. You can rank pupils within your school and review performance in curricular strands.
The results can show differential performance between groups of pupils.
Our tests can give a comparison of where individuals are in relation to our ‘national sample’. The mean score of the whole population that took a specific test or question can be compared to class or school means or to individual scores.
For the Year 2 tests and the Year 6 progress tests, you will receive an estimate of the likelihood that pupils will reach the standard in the national curriculum tests in May.
For the other Optional Tests, a threshold is available for each test; this provides an estimate of the national standard.
Information from the tests can provide information to support your assessment of a pupil’s progress. It will give an idea of how well pupils have understood different elements of the curriculum assessed in the test.
