It is the DfE’s intention that every pupil should be given the opportunity to sit both papers; the complete test is made up of both papers. However, if pupils cannot access most of paper 2, teachers can stop the test so the pupil does not struggle unnecessarily.
Do schools give every child both Y2 reading papers?
